ok cool...i have one and he so far will only eat feeder(gut loaded w/ bloodworms) he is in freshwater with some squarium salt added..hes very active and eats well just wondering if yours was in fresh or salt cause everything i've read is different some say it needs brackish or salt and some say fresh is fine so i wanted an experienced persons input. thanks

From what I understand... They really only live in freshwater as juvies as a nursery then travel out towards the ocean... So far i have had no problems with it being in freshwater over 2 years... He has grown excellent and has a good appetite...
But.... I am no expert. Far from it... Just a dude with an eel... I have been scorned for keeping him in fw. But until I have more time/money he will stay in fw

I had a G. tile for over 3 years in pure fresh and people say they won't last. I think that they do fine assuming you meat their requirements.(large tanks, hard water, 80 degrees F, and get them eating an mixture of foods.)

looks great! i need to get a video of my SA swamp eel eating. he eats almost everything too.
