I've had a pair of red redic rays for about 18 month. I've heard they don't breed in captivity to often so I didn't even consider it. To my surprise I came home today to 2 baby retics.

I was hoping to avoid moving them to another tank. They are in my 300g now.

Is it possible for them to survive if I don't move them ?

what else is in your 300 and also it just makes things easier for you and them during feeding time in a smaller tank. large tanks and small rays sometimes makes it hard for them to get to the food in time.

i feed my rays mostly live blackworms. but i have 2 red retuc rays, 1 marble motoro, 2 spotted gars, 5 geo's, 1 -30" silver arowana. the only fish that eat the blackworms are the rays and geos.

SO FAR my arowana has ignored the babies. here are some quick picture. i will take better ones tonight.

Here is what I'm not sure about. I have 2 red redics. Male and female and a female marble motoro. Is it possible that the male retic bred with the motoro?

The motoro is about 15". And the female retic is 9-10", male is 8-9"

No one has commented if I will be able to keep them in the 300

i would take them out of the 300. simply bc you have the gar in there and they can be alil aggressive esspecially and baby ray. AND with all the rays and bigger tankmates they could DEF stress the pups out to a point that they could die. AND they wont get much food with all the other rays.

BTW nice pups !
