WAL Update

Here is a pic of my WAL I took today. I transferred it to a 60g grow out tank. It was about 9" about a month ago. Looks to be between 10"-11" now. The external gills have almost disappeared.

Nice WAL! :) Give it a darker substrate and it will darken. :)

A dark natural colored substrate will help darken the WAL's coloration, and it looks pretty good in itself, too.

Personally, I'm torn between using dark natural gravel or using black sand for my WALs. On one hand, the WAL that's on gravel has good coloration and gets some enrichment by making hills and valleys out of the gravel, but the gravel isn't as easy to keep clean as sand. On the other hand, the WAL that's on black sand can't make very complex hills and valleys (it can just dig small pits) and has good coloration, but the sand is pretty easy to keep clean.
