Hey my buddie recently decided to sell off most of his rays and i was able to somehow aquire his White xingu sp snow leopard ray. most of all i would like to thank him for selling her to me once again as she is probably the most amazing stingray in the world in my opinion.

I will start by showing the development of this very special ray! and not all will turn into a true snow leopard, infact only one ever turned out white like this until recently.A few of the pictures of her are in my buddies tank some of you may have already seen, and others are of her in my quarantine tank here in calgary .she has been in captivity for 3 years and just last weekend she passed a #4 size curved shank bait hook that was inside of her for all that time!!!

enjoy

rayssept282011 011.JPG this is where it gets better here is a picture of a fellow keeper in europe he had the only other true white snow leopard.in this picture if you compare to my ray ,this one looks just a little bit more developed at this stage and is a earlier photo of this amazing ray

rayssept282011 012.JPG this photo was sent to me by a vendor in germany that sold me a xingu male that doa last winter .it looks like the same ray but may not be?

rayssept282011 013.JPG and this here is the end result of the development of the snow leopard white xingu sp ray ,this photo was shared by Mr. Huveneers a very highly respected ray breeder in europe.thanks again for sharing this photo
i think this ray was 60cm mine right now is maybe 40-45cm .

well here it is the development of what i call the most amazing ray in the hobby.

and this is waht she was holding onto for 3 years.glad she finally passed it.now you guys can see high quality fishing hooks do not rust like you think!!! im a avid fisherman living 3 minutes away from the best trout flyfishing river in north america.this was a shock to me too as i thought a hook would have been dissolved by stomach acids in 3 years for sure!

my conclusion..... this hook may have not even been in her stomach for that long.its possible she was hooked else where inside and dislodged it ,than she passed it through her?? one would only think that 3 years of stomach acids would have broken it down more,so im 110% certian this ray was holding above her digestive track for this duration, unless their is some expert who knows how the rays stomach would and could handle a hook?
