I've never breed anything other than guppies, how would I go about breeding some of my native fish? i have several bluegills in a 125g tank with other native fish, the tank is not heated. So would the best Idea be to heat the tank and feed them a bunch and wait for the eggs to show up?

Should be a cool project. You could help people stock their ponds and stuff with the offspring.

They're triggered by temp/light out in the wild (Or so it's thought). You could try slowing upping the temp a few degrees and extending the light cycle. Knowing the species would help, but on the east end of the country, I've seen them spawn under 5-6". (11 acre lake) Have any started pairing / clearing a pit?
