I remember seeing a RTC grow contest here a few months back and thought with all the mini tigers out there we might as well try to learn a little more about these fish if possible and just have fun checking in with updates and pictures showing the growth of our minis. This isn't a contest, there are no rules, just for fun and possible education purposes. If you'd like post pictures/videos here and if you have any tips regarding these smaller tigers that may not be commonly known let us know.

A few typical questions:

What size tank?
How many?
What do you feed/how often?
Glass bottom or sand/gravel?
Tankmates?
Growth rate?

I'll post some pictures and videos of my minis just as soon as I can assemble it for one post.

6 Tigers (.25"-.5")
Tank: 14g Biocube
Deep sand bed (play sand)
Tankmates: 12 various loaches
Feeding: Tubifex worms daily until fat, toying with pellets but they're either too big to swallow or too small to find still.
Water Change: 10% biweekly

I don't think glass bottom is a bad idea but in reading about a lot of Singapore keepers loosing many of them in glass bottom tanks I decided to put them in my deep sand bed tank. I'd like to think it will toughen them up a little in the long run not being in a perfectly sterile environment.

It's not a contest it's just for fun. Also I've found minis easier to get to take pellets. They try to eat them but they're just too small to fit broken pieces in their mouths and when I break the pellet small enough they can't seem to find it.

46gallon bowfront. 1" IT(Got about a week ago, was fed BW and Krill but now starving to be fed pellets), with a 5" RTGG, 5" Angelfish and a 5" Albino Senegal.

Fed NLS Sinking cichlid pellets 3 times a day. 40% Water changes every 3 days. IT is starting to take pellets in. Should be a couple more days till he starts gobbling them up.

Pic is of the IT's first day in the tank.
