Well I finally am getting a big tank. going to pick it up 2/17. It is a marineland with built in corner overflows.
going to be running 2 Fx5s plumbed to the overflows, 2 fluval e300s one behind each overflow.
still undecided for lighting was thinking about 2 double bright 60'' LEDs

Pic of the stand i will be building

Picked up tank today. Almost 400Lbs, me and my brother in law managed to bring it in with no slips or damage
did a quick rinse and wipe down/leak test
Sunday I will be buying lots of lumber.

Would like to here back from the MFK community Lets hear it. If it was yours how would YOU set it up?

Finished the top and bottom frame for the stand today. I will be straying from my original design since I am using all 2x6 instead of 2x4 tank build 008.JPG

Also found a very small crack in the corner on Fri. I am working with the seller to resolve this problem since I know for a fact it did not happen during the 15 min drive to my house doing 30Mph. the glass looks like it sticks out 1/8-1/16 of an inch past the inside glass. I learned my lesson and from now on will always check my tank before taking home. almost did not notice it. It stands out in the pic but in person it is very hard to see.

where EVERY things LEGAL :)
I think the 2 FX5's will be plenty that you don't need to waist the added $$ of the E300's

sorry I what i meant was E300s as in 300watt fluval heaters
I think that you could get a way with 1 FX5 and split the output into two 3/4in outputs. I did this on mine and works great on a 180 and she's stays Crystal Clear and I have over 50 tropheus in it that are 3in to 5.5in... I have a 300gph Maxi-jet 1200 that keep any detrius in the water column so it gets sucked into the overflows.

If you got a Hydor Water Circulator, 1 FX5 would be fine. They are Rated for 400gal tanks... Of course depends on the stock but you should be good.

The new Fx5s. I decided on 2 because I plan on keeping 2 motoros stingrays and a silver arowana. Running a total of 4,000 grams of biomax (8 boxs)and 2 blue fluval water polishing pads each. They are plumbed to the overflows with 1in I.D. hose and clamps. I like to keep things simple.
