I am thinking or putting a couple of the flood type in a spot or two just to get the effect of some places with brighter light and other places with less light. Might make a cool effect or might not. But I will be able to play with it and see exactly what I like or don't like. Should be fun. I was thinking of doing the led flood lights also but over all it would cost a good amount and who knows really if they will last that long. This way is cheap simple and easy to replace. Bulbs are $3.50 for 6 at Costco. Can't beat that at all.

You can get the LED floodlights for under $40 if you look around enough, but you might run into quality issues with those. I like the idea of having the spots on a tank that size, but the shimmer effect you'd get from LEDs would make it just that much better. Maybe you could get away with just one or two LEDs and the rest being your costco lights.

I can get the shimmer effect with having the water moving at the top of the tank really not too hard to do. As long as you have a good amount of light and surface movement you can get that effect. The most power full The light The better for it. That's easy to me. If anything I'll get one blue led light for a night light just for fun.

I was going to add a pic tonight stopped working at about 10:30 last night. Just got a first coat of mud on the walls. Going to do more mud tonight ceiling and more on the walls mostly corners . I am going to Vegas for a week next Wednesday (I will be checking out all the aquariums possible there) so I will be away for Bit. I have the plans for the stand ready. Going to use about 45 8' 2x4 and 4 10' 2x4. And of course 3inch screws. I have going to have a 3/4" plywood top and put 1/2" sheets around the sides to make it super rigid. Thing should be crazy strong. I ordered my bulk heads for sump. Talked to a place about drilling holes in sump about 30.00 per hole 2.5 inch for 1.5" bulk heads or I can buy the bit for 30.00. I think I am going to let someone else drill it for me. Tank has been polished and is ready to go. It's not perfect but It's used and I don't think It's worth all the time and effort to get it perfect. I wanted to get the larger scratches down good and clean out allot of the small ones.
