Toxotes blythii Questions

For the rarity question, i do not know exactly. They are fairly rare, i have never seen one around my area (wasnt searching either), but if they are worth $100 i do not know, could be a bargain or could be a rip off.

As for freshwater adaptability, they are a true freshwater fish. In fact, i think a salinity level around 1.010-1.015 could be harmful to them.

That being said, their water parameters are similar to toxotes microlepsis. They need hard freshwater, ph 7.0 minimum, better at 7.5 or above and will adapt in salinity anywhere from freshwater to 1.005sg. Temperature is like other archers 77-82 F, but i keep my microlesis and chatareus at 75-77F and they do fine.

I had a group of 5 together in a plant tank they are super easy to care for but the are extremely conspecific aggressive, more than any other archer I've ever dealt with. $100 for a 5"er is a pretty good deal considering mine were more than that wholesale a year ago.

That's a beautiful looking fish. Planning to keep them with my jar, know its risky because of the jardinis temperament, but cannot resist the beauty of archer. Just gathering details from where ever I can.
