I'm sorry if this has already been posted, but what do y'all do about algae in the tank with your gar(s)? I have a 13" FLG in a tank by himself, but there is beginning to be an algae problem. I can easily get it off the glass, but I am curious as to how you get it off rocks, plants, etc. Any ideas, tips, and suggestions are appreciated!

I personally take it off the front glass only. Anything else I'm too lazy to clean off.

As far as getting the algae of the rocks and plants a soak in a mild bleach water solution wil take care of that. Followed by a soak under water to get rid of any excess bleach.

Ok, and mild as in what kind of ratio? Do you have a ballpark figure?

I usually use 1 part bleach to 10 parts water. Just be sure to rinse the bleached item well with clean fresh water.
