Probably the Poly section
I'm starting to gather my materials for my 125 (salt, rock, sand) and I'm looking at about 30 pounds of live rock rubble and 100 pounds of base rock. But I don't know how much sand to get. I'm just doing dry aragonite and maybe a few pounds of live sand to seed it If needed. I've heard people say everything from 1- 3+ inches of sand, but how many pounds is that? My 30 has an inch of sand in it and that was maybe 20 pounds so how much Is a 125 going to need?

You also probably want an extra 20lbs of sand to toss a few in every so often.

Okay. My lfs carries aragonite in 50 pounders and live sand in 20 pound bags. Maybe two aragonites and one live? Then another small aragonite bag for adding as needed. I'm using about 30+ pounds of reef mud in my refugium (75-90 gallon sump, 30-40 gallon refugium) I'll start buying sand

deep sand beds for the win =P imo, i forget how much i have in my tank but it's around a 4-6" deep sand bed of aragonite. if i could do it over again i'd do another 4-6" but in a finer micron sand, sugar fine sand maybe. But yeah a good starting point is a pound per gallon.
