you can put a baby for a year or so. datnoids grow super slow for all i know.

You could grow the dat out in a 55, but eventually you will need a bigger tank for it. The bichir could live in there for life depending on width.

+1, maybe i read the question wrong, you could definitely grow the dat out in a 55.

Yes! Bigger the tank the better. I wouldn't put my dats in anything less than a 75gallon, I prefer at least an 18" deep tank. But a single dat in a 55, that will work. They grow pretty damn slow, as long as u keep it off the steroids lol

Ive got my dats in a 55 right now. I will transfer them to my 180 when they pick up a little more size.
They just take a while to grow. You could have some for a few months. Then you would need a bigger tank
or would need to sell them.
