i know theres no real gar species called silver gar but i walked into a LFS and they had these cool little fish labeled as silver gar for $8.95 or somethin. im not really shure what it is. hopefuly you guys can help me out with this. the pic isent really that great but its got red eyes, a yellowish tail, elongated snout with teeth, and a little black dot by its tail fin. my guess is some kind of pike? idk let me know what you guys think. im trying to get a picture up but its not working probubly post a pic in a little while.

you can look that up online but ive kept them before so i have some experience...

do better in groups. They eat live but can be put on prepared foods. Very skittish but cool fish. I think ive heard they get a foot long but ive never seen one over 5 inches i dont think

Yeah it's a Hejuta gar (not a real gar though) but still cool. They eat live food but I got mine on hikari floating pellets, sinking pellets, frozen bloodworms, frozen shrimp, and mealworms. They get about 10" give or take an inch varying by the fish.
