I started this thread within our local club, but I though I would expand to get more data. I am on the hunt for a new pump, but want to get some perspective on how these pumps perform in real world scenarios.

Fill out as specified below. I'll post mine to start.

1. Pump Brand
2. Pump Model
3. Pump CFM or LPM rating
4. Type of pump, linear or diaphragm?
5. Noise level of the pump
6. How many outlets was it rated to run?
7. Where did you buy it?
8. Current number of outlets being run.
9. Is your pump maxed out or can it handle more?
10. General thoughts on your pump overall.
11. Cost of the pump

1. Jehmco
2. DAPPH30
3. 40LPM at 1.5psi
4. Diaphram air pump
5. It runs about 87dB
6. 20-35 outlets per Jehmco
7. www.jehmco.com
8. Currently running 32 outlets
9. I'm pretty sure it is maxed out. If install any more, I lose flow to another tank.
10. I like the pump, it could be a little quieter in the room, but overall it is solid. I just need something bigger as I plan on installing more tanks.
11. Costs $119, new. I got it used from a good friend.

Great idea. Its always tough to get a feel for quality of an air pump without getting first hand experience.

1. EcoPlus
2. EcoPlus Commercial Air 3
3. 65lpm at 3.9psi
4. linear piston
5. On the loud side
6. 24+
7. Amazon
8. 12 total between the two pumps I own. One runs my bioreactor and 3 large airstones. The other runs 8 large sponge filters.
9. Can handle more but I use very large air disks with 5/8" tubing.
10. Love it for the performance and price. I run two side by side and they are loud but really can push some air.
11. $59

1. Jehmco
2. DAPMH15
3. 15LPM at 1.5psi
4. Diaphram air pump
5. It's very Quiet. I don't have a way to measure, but I would guess below 50dB.
6. 8-15 outlets per Jehmco
7. www.jehmco.com
8. Currently running two 2.5" ball diffusers at 4' depth (in display tank) and a 10" wand diffuser at 15" depth (in sump).
9. I think it could run another couple ball diffusers.
10. I am very happy with the pump. I was surprised at how quiet it is. It seems to be very well constructed; for the price, I don't think this pump can be beat. In regards to reliability, I've had it for less than one year, so I can't provide much info there, but so far so good.
11. Costs $74.95

1. Alita
2. AL-15A
3. 20lpm (0.7cfm) with rated pressure of 1.4psi
4. Linear air pump with two diaphragms
5. 29 dB
6. Up to 30 outlets per mfg.
7. www.kensfish.com
8. 6 PVC air lifts on HMF filters, 4 #3 Hydro Sponge filters. No air stones.
9. I'm sure it can handle more outlets if I increase supply line size.
10. I'm pleased with the overall performance and it's quiet. I had to replace the diaphragms after 2 years due to undersized supply line and failure to properly bleed air off.
11. $105 including an 8-gang valve manifold in 2009.

EcoPlus pumps are not linear piston pumps they have diaphragms, it's just a marketing scheme.
