I have a purple fire fish it's small about 2.5 inch just now I notice it was hurt I caught it and put it into a breeders tank and I saw that it was a chunk missing out of it like something was eating it as I took out my rocks to catch her I saw some worms what are they also they had what looked like hair white hair and can they be the ones who took the chunk off my fire fish also how can I heal her I'm trying melafix should that help

Thanks the only thing I have in the tank are 2 clownfish and a blue devil damsel the clownfish and her have always gotten along the damsel is to small I don't think he could have done this

Damsels are quite aggressive and if it was in the tank first it is quite possible. However, if it were me I would take a flashlight and cover it with several layers of red saran wrap...then use that to veiw your tank after the lights have been out for an hour or so. I would rule out a fish eating hitchhiker before I blamed the other fish.

It isn't uncommon to aquire nasty little predatory critters from the LFS, and they don't even charge you for them!!! You might have to check the tank with the red light several days before finding anything if there is something in there.
