so it was cold last night(35F) and I think all the gar would be numb enough for me to take them out for a measure with out injure them. Right now I only have 4 gars which are all spotted gar and gonna try to sell some and catch some more. Here they are:
23''3/4, my first gar and the only one that I'm 100% sure is a male. Caught in late April, 2012.
24'', my longest gar caught about 6 weeks ago.
23'', a really long snout spotted that I didn't sure it is 100% spotted gar or not when I caught it about 5 weeks ago
18'', it is the newest gar that I caught about 3 weeks ago.
And this is what I got when carelessly holding the small gar when I put it in the plastic bin:
