Ph

So while I am doing hypo (which I am finally able to start in the next few days, just waiting for a refractometer in the mail) I am aware ph will drop. I am currently cooking up some sodium carbonate from arm and hammer baking soda. So if I bring my ph in my RO/DI bucket up to 8 and I add it to the tank will the ph in the tank stay at 8, or jump up?
