"A man has been sentenced to 10 months in prison after stealing 14 Koi from a garden pond in Wales.Dominic Oliver, 22, of Burry Port in Carmarthenshire, Wales stole £10,000 worth of Koi from the garden of a local vet, because he wanted them for his new pond, according to a report by*This is South Wales. Sebastian Puglisi noticed some of the fish had gone missing from his pond at the rear of his veterinary practice on Station Road, which is surrounded by a high wall and metal gate.Then a week later he realised that even more had disappeared. He called the police who found a footprint at the scene. Mr Puglisi then installed motion sensitive CCTV at the premises and within 24 hours it was activated by a man using a net to catch fish from the pond in the early hours of the morning.The man then returned a few hours later — but Mr Puglisi was already in the garden, having been alerted by the earlier activation of the CCTV.He called the police who arrested Oliver. They later found a newly built pond at his home containing the 14 stolen fish. Oliver was sentenced to a total of 10 months in prison at Swansea Crown Court, after admitting the theft of the fish and breaching a suspended sentence."
