Please ID these grouper

At least i think these are grouper. I caught these two guys under an inshore boat launch dock on the east coast of Florida just south of Daytona. I was trying to catch pinfish for bait but ended up with these guy who put on an unexpextingly good fight for an ultralight rod w/ 2lb test.

1st pic to me looks like a baby goliath grouper, I could be wrong. Second pic doesn't appear to be a grouper at all. Again I may be wrong there, not the most expirenced with these species.

I hope you released him; they are critically endangered.

Not sure what the second fish is.
No he is in my 55 gallon FOWLR tank. No Jk. He was released just fine. And I feel a bit BA catching one even if it was a baby lol. It was really nice looking. However, the other one ended up getting gut hooked. He struggled to swim away even though I cut the line.
