Hi, I noticed that you are using sandwich bag ties to in your tank. That would be toxic to fish and is a good way to contaminate and kill everything in your tank. The only metal you can use in salt water is titanium. Not even stainless steel. In the future, nylon tie wraps are safe to use and are inexpensive.

Thanks for the advice. It was intended as a temporary thing, but it's good to know that there are better temporary options out there. I'll definitely keep that in mind in the future.

I got rid of it last week. It was white and slimy, and the stench was unbearable.
I actually started another thread on this topic, because I'm being given another egg
