I finally got a legal Asian Arowana here in the USA. This wood carving my parents brought back from their holiday vacation from Cambodia. There were other carvings that were over three feet long however they had no clue how to ship the carvings back to the USA. I think this carving could be some kind of Red Arowana. It is one of my favorite memento's:grinno:.

It's not my first choice (a live Red Asian Arowana) however it is still a great gift.

I'm so disappointed by this.
LOL don't be progress toward the end goal of legal Asian Arowanas continues to be made. I think we have got a good shot at seeing legal Asian Arowanas in the USA someday. Progress sometimes comes in steps consider this gift a small step in that direction.

True that. But back to the topic at hand, that is a super cool carving!

Thanks. I'm wondering what kind of wood they used as this carving is heavy. My parents said Rose Wood however I think that is an illegal wood to export maybe possibly Teak. Would have been great to have a three foot version of this carving though.
