Sounds about right. Way overpriced for a fish you may not be able to house in the future lol. Looks good, but in the end I hope someone with deep pockets gets it and then posts up here in our catfish section documenting it's growth and survival into adulthood.

I would guess the reserve on that cat is around $6,500. I had a chance to babysit a platinum red tail cat in my tank for a month. Gorgeous fish to say the least.

Energy is correct on pricing - He cat sat my 12" Plat RTC originally imported via Jesse last year and (and Aquabid seller reference in previous post) - I just landed some more Plat RTC from Jesse today. Jesse (aquatic-lifesupport.com) did a great job and followed through as promised. These were priced better than my original Plat RTC from him. He has access to some stunning rarities from Asia. He should think of being a vendor on here. I know if he can get access to several species of catfish from there I've always wanted I would be way interested. be careful of what you post though. We have a buy and sell section and a vendor section for a reason. So if there are specifics they need to be posted in there, but if you are posting pics without prices or trying to sell then it will be just fine in here. We would love to hear more about the cats and see tons of pics though and welcome to MFK. we need someone to come in here and share about their plat cats. lol, although I think most of us will never be able to afford those types.

Plat Cat- That tail is phenominal! The reddest I have seen on one of those. Since babysitting your I checked out images of other platcats and none of them have that deep of red on the tail. What a stunning contrast and looking better all the time. Would love to see some updated photos.
