Tank Divider... Made of Rocks?

Hey all, so I want to divide my 56g (2'x15"x18") and was thinking of perhaps stacking rocks up rather than shoving a plastic/glass/etc divider in. I basically want to divide up cichlids and was thinking of taking approximately 20cm x 20cm x 20cm lava rocks on top of each other plus smaller stones in between to fill the gaps. My questions is, might the tank break? I know. Tanks can hold a lot of weight, but this is concentrated weight in a line across the tank we're talking about.

What do you guys reckon?

Why use lava rocks? For the natural look? Rather use a DIY 3D background as a divider. With of those dividers (eggcrate, glass or plastic), glue the small lava rock together into the divider, both sides. Sprinkle the in between rocks with cement, treat and dry. Remember to leave a few space for the holder (magnet or suction cups).

it's the risk of them collapsing that'd worry me the most. I've also imagined making a natural looking divider, though ;-)
try the above suggestion.
