I am getting a 300 gallon new acrylic tank and also getting a 240 gallon used acrylic tank. One will be used for my peacock bass to grow into and the other for a salt water tank. My question is whether or not I should choose new over used for the salt water set up? Or maybe vice versa, and why if so?

Before it's all said and done you will probably have more invested in your SW tank. I would use the new tank for SW just because of that. But then again if you have FW fish you are really attached to you may want to keep them in the new tank. Really its up to you and what you value more.

It really doesn't make a difference. But if you use the used tank just make sure it's cleaned with white vinegar

The deep south
way more algea growth with salt so more chances to scratch up a brand new tank when cleaning the glass, really comes down to footprint for your stock tho. What salt do you plan on keeping?
