Really? Ph 9. Mine is about 8.5 and I'm on my second gulper, both went off food. I'm guessing they either had parasites or water conditions weren't correct. My current gulper I don't believe has eaten in 4 months and its in a tank of large convicts. I was just about to order peat balls to lower the ph. My last gulper I treated with metronidazole , prazipro and other meds and I think in the end the meds affected its swim bladder as he was on his back and couldn't balance. Really puzzled as I thought With the second one I'd avoid feeders, which i i did. He had a couple of cichlids but went the same as the first of food.

I'm really lost with this one? Was in with a stingray before I moved him to the tank with the convicts. However went off food for a month then ate 2 king prawns then went off food all together. I love these little fella, if only I knew what was going wrong. I don't think I could bring myself round to do the 3 hr round trip and £125 to do the same thing for a third time.

First, you are keeping your Gulpers at an impossibly high ph.mwe are talking amazonian fish. Acud and soft water.

Second, no Gulper thrives well alone.
