Looks like a Colombian variety. They thrive in groups, IMO at least 6-7. This plus abundance of hiding spaces should bring about their more natural behavior.

Peruvians usually have a little bit larger spots and less of them but most obviously with a better black-&-white contrast. They are reported to grow smaller too.
