RTCXTSN
How long could it last in a 220? Standard 72x24x30. LFS is getting one tomorrow @ 1". I just feel like it would be better off in my 220 then someone's 20 high.

You're looking at about 2 years give or take. One of mine, the faster growing one, started at 2" and is about 18" or so less than a year later. I keep them in a 6.75x2.75x2.75 for now.

I love it. Better than going in someone's 20 high. I talk myself into things like that all the time any excuse will do. Go for it plenty of time to think of an upgrade.
Some people just don't get it.

They are awesome fish, mine is very interactive with me
it's really hard to say how fast they grow because they are a hybrid but it will be fast, just hard to say if its RTC fast or TSN fast lol mine has grown from 2" to 8ish in about 3 months to give you an idea but he should be fine for a good while and if your willing to build a pond then there will be no problems

idk your current experience with ponds and if you haev ever had them but i always liek to through this warning, ponds get bigger than you think. with 50+ gallon filter systems, and usually takign up a large footprint. might want to plan where its going now so you don't have to figure this out when you have a 12-20" fish looking at the glass.

No it would've been $70. They said some guy had already paid for it as soon as it came in. I told them not to order them anymore though. I'm sure it'll get thrown in a 55
