I've already left the shop that was the only pic I took. It had the body shape and bulk of an RTC but it had the spots and patterns of a RTCxTSN I just assumed it was a RTCxTSN that got a little more RTC

From what I have seen under 2 inch they look quite similar but after that I agree they definitely look more like a shovelnose after that and bulk up and look a bit more RTC as they grow

I had one from June 2011-May 2012 before my heater failed. He was between 8-9" and he def had more of a Shovelnose body and head. The one at the LFS today just had a lot of spots on it unlike any other true red
Tail I have seen. You can see the on its head in the pic.

The hybrids do vary a lot but my rtc has a lot of spots too and some join together and stuff it looks so cool, he is the best looking rtc I have ever seen IMO I was so happy when I found him. Your hybrid looks cool btw feed him a good varied diet and he will colour up really nice

What would you suggest I feed him? I have Hikari Massivore Delight, Shrimp Pellets, Tetra Cichlid sticks, and some cichlid sinking pellets.
