1200 Gallon Shark Tank Rebuild
I received my new filtration system today. Its custom built by chris hale from Aquatic Supply. First off, he is excellent to work with and built me an amazing system. Here are a few pics of the Filtration that I received today, it's gonna be a beast of a system when completed. Here is the thread from the original build.

I decided to gut my old system today, to get ready to install the new equipment. The old filtration ran on two 1.5" drains and one 2" return that splits into four separate 3/4" outlets. The new system will have two 2" drains and two 1.5" returns. I drilled the back of my tank for the new 2" bulkheads and also ran the new lines. Should be setting in the new equipment soon. Here are a few pics of the old system and after I gutted it today.

Nice setup!
How do you heat it? Since you are running 1,500+ watts of pumps, are heaters even necessary? In all affairs it's a healthy thing now and then to hang a question mark on the things you have long taken for granted.

yea the old system ran on 2 hammerhead pumps and 1 high pressure pump that ran the skimmer. It was about perfect water temp in the winter, but during the summer it always wanted to get hot. Hopefully the new pumps wont create as much heat. I'm also adding a UV system, so not sure I will gain to much overall.
