Its probably 18" wide unless its a custom 125 or something. Kels get bigger than 18". My 265 is only 24" wide and I know my current pbass would fit in there but I dont feel comfortable with them in a 24" wide tank. So they are in my 4 foot wide 500 gallon. You can have one in there but to me, the wider the better. If your 125 was 24" wide you could obviously keep it in there much longer. If you put your devil in there, it would probably kill your bass, I dont know the personality of your devil so I'm just going by what I have personally experienced. A dead kel would be $$$$, I wouldnt want a $25 fish to kill a $100 fish or more.
