*FX5/HAGEN CUSTOMERS
HOW MANY OF YOU CURRENTLY USE A HAGEN PRODUCT (AC LINE,FX5,ETC) ON YOUR AQUARIUM? ARE YOU SATISFIED ATM?
I'll start, I have 2x ac110 and 1x fx5,I've always been satisfied with both and would readily recommend hagen products.
This isn't a fx5 vs eheim thread, I just want to gauge the amount of satisfied/dissatisfied hagen customers!

Currently running an FX5 for the last 2 years. I have a 405 that is about 6 years old, not in use at the moment. A couple AC110's in a box. Other then impellers in the AC110's I have never had a failure of any kind - ever. I have no idea about their customer service since I have never needed it.

I LOVE my ac filters(1-110 4 -70's) no problems unless i get sand in the filter... I must say however I DONT LIKE CANS (this is personal preference )... the inevitable user error always bites me (broken clamps)so I STICK WITH AC'S AND SPONGE FILTERS...I am sure .that in the hands of the proper individual fx5 are top of the line filtration...

I have had nothing but problems with aquaclear. Seems the impellor design is garbage. But ive never owned a fluval canister.

I've had my fx5 for about two months now, no problems yet but some of what I've heard has me worried. I've got an old fluval 305, I've had it for a year, plus I bought it used and guy told me it was about two years old. Things a pain to start up with that little primer stick pump, but once it's going its great.

I dont own any Hagen/Fluval filters but I do have several Hagen 801 powerheads that are about 20 years old and still run like new. Highly recommend their powerbeads.
Been thinking of getting an FX5 just to check it out....not crazy about the pump being mounted on the bottom but it seems like a great bang for the buck......
