Currently running a dozen AquaClears. Unlike Mr. Bigglesworth, mine have been trouble free for years. LOL! I did once have to replace a leaky O ring.

I don't understand how there's a lot of people having trouble with the fx5 I've never had a problem except microbubbles which goes away in 5 mins..... I've used a good amount of canister filters on the market and I dont really see any of them being too difficult to run and for the most part all do a good job, its like anything else you gotta learn proper maintenance or your gonna run into problems

I have an ac110 and an FX5 on my 220 right now. Love them both. The FX5 is my first canister. I have always used AC's or sponge filters in the past. Between myself, dad and uncle we have probably had over 30 Ac's. Besides impellers never had a problem.

2 AC50's and 1 AC30 that's about 6 years old. The only problem I've had is a tiny piece of the propeller broke last week on the AC30 but it still spins and moves fine so I left it alone. Love the AC line

I run 2 Fluval FX5's and have done for a long time and they have never failed even though I have given them a beating when moving and such. Only fault was with one of the tabs used to connect the motor to the bucket broke which was my fault and was welded back on easily. I also run Fluval heaters and have fluval 4 plus internals which have been ticking along nicely for years!
I intend to live forever. So far, so good!

I have used every size of the aqua clear filters. They were alright but I found they clogged up too quickly for my needs and the impeller design really starting bothering me after a while with suction issues. I also have the fluvial canister filters 10-405, 306, and two FX5. I like the FX5s but I find the flow does not distribute enough. But I keep them running for 6-8 months at a time and love them for that ability. I hate my '05 series only because of the primer. It is just horrible and on some of mine they fail to create the suction I need and kill my fingers. Other than they they work very well. I love the change they did with the 06' series primers. Much easier on the hands.

I like AC's they're good at doing their job and they can last 10+ years with regular maintenance and shaft changes. I currently am running 5xAC-110 and 8XAC-70.

I will never use, buy or recommend any of their canister especially the FX5 one of the worst filters I've used. Cheap plastic parts and the job it does is nothing special. I think it's an over priced external pump.

The AC power heads like the 900 are very good and built to last IMO I like them a lot.

I think hagens customer service is horrible.
Here in Canada the head office is in Quebec I had to call back 20 times to reach a human and when I did she could hardly speak English. I couldn't believe it. Not all Canadians speak French. Plus they don't know their products.

Have a 304. Love the canister itself but the hoses and intake are beyond bad.

I like the AC110 and FX5. I have found little issues with both personally but that is me being anal.
