Fluval Issues? Your chance to be heard!!
The title pretty much sums it up. How do you folks feel about the fluval 03,04,05,06 and the FX5. How many of you have had problems and how many would buy another? This does not Include the Aquaclear HOB filters just Fluval canisters only??

If it wouldn't kill my fish I'd put them in the dumpster and then post it so whoever got there first can have the problems and the sad thing is they are in Brand new almost good enough to put in the box and sell as new. This isn't directed at anyone it a honest attempt to get the word out on a product that needs some attention before they keep charging the prices they are. A $129.00 aquatop is twice the filter.

I find it weird that you're still using them. Are you sure you truly hate them? Seems like you do so why not
sell them? Others who like them will for sure pick them up.
I couldn't wait to get rid of my FX5's and as soon as I planned it all out I went out and picked up two BNIB 2262 and one used 2260.
Everyone has their likes and dislikes. I based mine on what I've experienced with the fluval filters. I really like most of the other Hagen filters.

Fluvals have been around for years. Don't know about the 06 models, but all the others have worked great. Each new model was an improvement over the older model. IMO, next to eheims, they are the second best canister filters made. Easy to use, easy to clean. hawkerw, you seem to have as many problems with the fluvals as mr. bigglesworth has with the bulletproof aquaclears. LOL!

I have 4 FX5's, a CF500UV, and a CF400UV. All are great filters in my opinion.
That being said, in do love the build quality of my FX5's. the aquatops are good filters, but the plastics a thinner and the connections aren't as nice. For $100 the CF500 can't be beat, but I'll still gladly shell out $175 for a used FX5 (which I have done three times now).

Ill say this much if there wasn't the option to buy the 2262 or 2260 I'd stick with the FX5 but I wouldn't be happy about it
