I remembered

Here there's about a $200-250 dollar difference between the fx5 and 2262
The 1262 alone costs 180+13% tax on average. That pump is solid a works great.
We get taken advantage of here equipment costs a lot of money compared to the states.
Im not sure where you're located I'm just assuming America if not I apologize.
I paid $150 each for my old FX5's BNIB it was a customer appreciation deal.
They were worth every penny until I ran I to issues and regretted not dishing out more for the eheim.
I agree that any filter can malfunction in some way but I've never had any start to break down as fast as the fx5 which are suppose to be good quality.
I'm happy there was the option of the eheim. If not I'd still be using fx5's
Sumps I'll do next time but currently my tanks are bit drilled and I don't trust HOB over flows
PP~
I apologize for getting in the mix

I dont like the LATCH SET-UP(304)......that said the only problems I have encountered are thru user (me) error.....they could make those puppys a little more bullet proof IMO... UNTIL THEN I am happy with hob's and sponge filters (it doesnt hurt the beauty of the fish or aquascape in MY TANKS),,, PEACE

I posted on this before. I had a wee temper tantrum with one of my fluvals. I hate them. All the 204,304, and 404 garbage.
I had a 304 and two 404's on my tank. Every time I cleaned them out I wanted to throw them out the window. Something would ALWAYS break. Just because of the brittle plastic. The impeller cover clips would snap off, the hose clamps wouldn't work or would break and the things would NEVER CLOSE all the way.
One day a few months back I hit the breaking point...........literally.
See the picture? That was after 3 failed attempts to get it to seal and after breaking a clip to the impeller housing. I think I might have had a small aneurism.
Now I have a FX5.. Still Fluval I know.. but this one SO FAR is great.-So I've been thinking about our past, and how I chummed the waters of our friendship with fish guts of dishonesty.
-And I've been thinking about how the shark of my loyalty gorged on the deceitful entrails of your bloody lies.
-So we both saw that shark special last night?
