All valid reasons
Dang that sucks about the flood.
I only had that happen with a rena xp4
the hidden o rings in the disconnect were damaged.
Even their support staff didnt know about them.
I had to take it apart to find out they're there.
The gasket set doesn't even include them as if they don't exist.
Our Hagen head office in is Quebec and their support staff can't even speak proper English and know zip about their products.
My issues with the fx5 was poor filtration, cheap plastic parts and I had to replace the impeller. $60+ for it the impeller.
Not to mention the lid fasteners after they dry out and crack.
No I didn't crank on them like most assume.
The plastic is really cheap and the lid fasteners are poorly designed.
I was lucky my brother came up with a DIY fix small metal cross dowels.
I had to save up for the eheims while I was studying took me some time to do so.
Money isn't like toilet paper to me lol so I know how expensive they can be.
I used to live in a town of 500 I grew up on a farm in Northern Ontario
Actually the town was around 80km away from our place.
I know exactly what it's like and you're right nothing like living near or in the woods.
I regret moving to this blah city called Toronto but I'm stuck here now.

"What you've posted is one of the most insanely idiotic things I have ever heard. At no point in your rambling, incoherent response were you even close to anything that could be considered a rational thought. Everyone in this thread is now dumber for having to read it. I award you no points, and may God have mercy on your soul."

If you can properly set this filter up and maintain it, it is one of the best canisters on the market. I'm sorry that you had problems....

Sorry not helping the hate thread. I have 2 fx5 great filters love them both. Just got done cleaning one, it was super super dirty but still kept picking up the crap in the tank, if I ever setup another good size tank and need a canister filter ill buy again. Now my customer service email I sent about a jager heater being broken that's a classic, my heater does not work its always on. Did you adjust the temp turning all the dials, yes I did, still is always on what can you do to help I just purchased it. Then no more communications came to me, thanks to the Amazon seller for being really good and sending a refund.

But seriously, I will trade a SunSun(Aquatop) 304B for the FX5. I'll even pay the shipping...

I like my FX5 although I do have some small issues with it but I can find almost any issue with any filter. I do love my Aquatop filters because they are simple, have baskets and the quick disconnects are IMO one of the best on the market. I believe the marineland C series also use these disconnects. I also really like Eheims and probably would have bought the 2262 if it wasn't twice the price. I am still considering buying one anyways but $400 makes me consider setting up my larger tank and going with a sump.
