I crash at the K-Pg
I found this guy at an LFS here in Florida. I don't know if he's a melanistic FLG or a trop. Either way he seems like a cool find. All of the other gar in the tank were normal colored, obvious FLG. He also seemed to have a shorter, wider snout than the others. Thoughts?

a stress out FLG! and that snout look normal to me, some of my spotted gars have snout a lot broader than that and generally FLG have snout a bit broader than spotted!

Thanks guys. :) I was thinking about getting him as I like the look of melanistic gars, but if hes just a stressed FLG I think Ill pass.

it is not stressed, not sure why it was said to be. i see floridas like that up here from time to time. they look cool, but i think they loose that pattern in different displays. it may keep it though.
