hey all this a new thread after my previous 300g stock issues... basically as my community grows space in the 300 is getting tight so i need to cut back asking for some help on deciding my stock.

current stock;

my red yellow and black barred midas paired with lfs orange female with fry (prob midevil). 10 and 8 inch

orange and white midas male and female 10 and 6 inch

giant gourami 12inch

dovii pair with fry 7 and 6 inch

pair of butti 8 and 6 inch

african pike 9 inch

jack dempsey 6 inch

ornate pim catfish 6 inch

featherfin syno catfish 8 inch

rtc 6 inch

10 inch sailfin plec

fish going tomorrow;

butti pair

my beloved snakehead from my other tank that the pike almost killed, healing nicely now.

orange female midas

orange and white male midas

im looking for a nice home for the rtc and jd!

so there we go!

everythings telling me to stick with what im doing and lose the dovii pair aswell as i dont think i can dedicate the whole tank to two fish as they grow! plan on getting the orange and white female with my older orange and black male.... find myself wanting to keep the orange and white male aswell now but im just asking for trouble with two pairs of midas right????

good points;

in reality dovii will take over and it would be theirs alone as much as i'd like to keep them

would love to keep the giant snakhead and rtc but tanks not big enough for either really

if i kept all cichlids i'd be massively over stocked

so my current stock by thursday will be;

12 inch gg
black and orange and white and orange midas male and female
(maybe other midas')
(dovii pair pending)
(rtc and jd pending)
ornate pim
syno cat
pleco
african pike

am i making the right decisions???
should i keep the midas im keeping???

heres some pics to give you an idea

Tough call, you have some impressive specimens there!

Can I ask what you're using for lighting setup? Really like it

thanks, i have been pondering for a while! the lighting is a 6ft t5 unit with two blue bulbs two 10000k whites and 4 moonlight led clusters, its on ebay uk for 140 uk pounds so pretty cheap aswell!

Tough calls there. I think eventually the dovii pair is going to beat on the Midas pair, and since your barred Midas is a stunner, you may want to consider losing the dovii pair, at least the male anyway.
