How many of you have gone Arowana sport fishing? I know it is done quite extensively in South America for South American species and in Australia for Australian species. All are awesome and if you have got pictures post them. I have heard that Silver Arowanas go after silver spoons quite readily.

It would be great one day if Asian Arowanas were delisted to even catch a southeast Asian species on rod and real and possible even a fly rod. It could happen it large amounts of habitat were conserved.

I have not gone yet I want to though. The one time I got to go fishing in the Amazon I got to go fishing for Red Belly Piranha and chunks of red beefs was the bait..

To continue above we only caught catfish and pufferfish...

I was going through some YouTube video and found this Asian Fishing Show of Scleropages leichardti fishing. I cannot understand a word of what the fishermen are saying however they are catching Arowana's, Snakeheads, Barramundi's and some other great fish species;).

They are calling the Arowana's Leichardti Arowana's in the show. However I am not seeing any spots on any of the Arowana's that they are catching.

Thanks much! Other than keeping the worlds Arowana species in home aquariums. Sport fishing for Arowana's (along with some other species) is high on my itinerary for things to accomplish list. Catch and release of course.

Best Regards
