Can a 8ft. tank be safely transported on the top of an SUV if strapped down?

If flat and level surface of course. Add some foam padding and protect the front facing the wind + a couple inches and you would be great.

Although he said he found a UHAUL truck I'm not sure if most SUV's are able to support such weight as an eight foot tank.It'd be a helluva time just getting it up there.I rented a UHAUL van when I got my 265 and its a good thing he found one.

The width and height is also not mentioned. For all we know it could be 40 feet wide in which case no it wont work. (Obviously). Also suv model is not mentioned. It could be some freakshow suv like one of those 30 foot suv limousines.

If you decide to put an 8' tank on top of your suv, take a video. I would love to see how you get it up there without a fork lift.
