Hi i bought a black angelfish on Friday and it has acquired a significant taste for duckweed. It is species P. Scalare. It has gone through about half of the entire tanks worth so far and i can actually see the surface of the water now. Are angelfish (particularly P. Scalare) known for eating duckweed?

It hasnt eaten any other plants thus far...

Angels are known to munch on plants. It's not certain if they do this for food or just for something to do. Angels seem to prefer broadleaf plants but, I've seen them grazing on hair algae, too. So, it's a coin toss whether or not your angels will munch on duckweed. If they do , they're probably munching on your aquarium plants, too.

So they are omnivores?...Ive never kept angels but I think I recall reading somewhere that they eat small fish.
