I am noticing small white worms in my tank. They are as thin a a piece of thread and they are only 1/4 inches long. Everytime when i'm doing a WC, i can see a large colony swimming in the water. Are they dangerous to fish? Are they inteernal paracites. How do I get rid of them? Thanks.

Are they harmful? They just look like pieces of swimming white threads!

Yeah, such worms are usually harmless but occur when there is a bio load issue of some kind.

Where did they come from?
Good question,I don't know how they find their way into a system but they are an indicator of lax husbandry....Dormant eggs perhaps.
