I love the pothos idea.! But I like a plant that's appealing to the eye. So I went with some dwarf lotus.

I put the 2 lotus tubers in a bowl for a week or so to get em going. Then rinsed some media and put my tubers into 6" net pots. My buddy troutslayer made me some custom lids to place the net pots in. Into the tank they went. They now reside in my 225g under a 4ft t5. Fingers crossed they thrive.

None really? I see a lot of lookie loo's.

Well the dwarf lotus i got was called beautiful dancer. It is one of the smaller varieties that can be kept in bowls or pots so im hoping it will be manageable in my tank. Once summer hits and all the snow is melted im gonna set up a wine barrel water pond for some new lotus plants.

Thanks for stopping by.

I've been waiting to see how this turns out. I think the Lotus idea is pretty cool and they will look great. I'm looking foward to watching these progress. GL

You're off to a great start. I had added some terrarium plants to the back of my tank, before the pothos monster overtook the tank.

I had purchased the plant from a member on this site, cant remember the name now, but if you can get the lighting set up right and the nutrients from all that pbass poop will make your flowers bloom. Your lid setup should keep the pollen from getting into the tank.

One suggestion would be to aim a powerhead/fx5 output at the planter basket, or place an airstone underneath of it to get more aggitation.

That's nice. Do those clay balls sink? I have this media in my sump. They are mainly used in aquaponics. Very porous and do not sink. Commonly called as pop soil here. If it is the same thing you using I am going to try something like this for my 360.

Thx for sharing :)

I believe the bulbs need to be fully submerged, but the rest of the plant will grow through the surface of the water. May be wrong though, never grew dwarf lotus.
