Just got this set up and added worms to it today.

Been planning for 2 weeks or so. Will eventually house g. spengleri turtles I think if I can source young'ns.

Planning on planting some alpine strawberry plants probably and a bunch of moss and some other possibly edible vegetation, like herbs and mint and such.

Comments welcome, will of course update as I progress! Lotsa pics below.

So in order to get my "groundwater" I modified a drilled frag tank so that the overflow panel was removed and the drain was only 2'' or so above the glass and then extended long pvc along the side and back, ending in a spray bar.

Put in my awesome log and barricaded off the overflow area with porous rock, filling in most of the area the water flows with porous rock and, as you'll see, bags of ceramic media.

Back with filter media, sort of like an underground sump is my plan, haha.

Lotsa bio going on!

And ready to add worms and plants! Possibly thinking of adding a little mister thing in the pond.

Thanks. It's 4'x2'x1' but will have a hood I'll customize a bit on top of it.

Eventually it'll have a bunch of tiny wood turtles and some plants. The turtles look more or less like this: (not my picture)
