Hi,

I currently have a wide range of filters being used on freshwater tanks, these are fully matured etc and was wondering if any or all of them can be used on a salt tank?

External Canister Filters
Air driven sponge filters
Internal power filters

I am only wanting to keep fish and no corals or anything like that?

It doesn't matter how mature they are. Salt and fresh water bacteria are 2 different kinds of bacteria.

The filters themselves can be used but not the media.

All of the bacteria needs to be killed. Sponges tend to be a poor choice as well. Do you have lr?

What does lr mean?
I have put the sponges in boiling water and squeezed out, also have some new bio balls in there.

Oh I just realised ... Live rock? Nope I went to get some from the fish shop and they advised me against it and said to get ocean rock instead?
