Hey, I was wondering if someone were to get a FOWLR but put a couple (very few) corals in it, would it be considered reef or still FOWLR? What is a mixed reef? Thanks.

You can do your research on your fish and add some soft corals if your inhabitants will leave them alone and it won't be considered a reef tank. A reef is more than a few corals.

A mixed reef tank is a tank with softies, SPS and LPS all mixed together

Well your kinda asking dumb questions that even the most simple google search would answer. The answer is yes, there are hard corals. They are called SPS corals. Small polyp stony.
