I would like to black out the background on my 150 but its hard to find anything that will work with its 30 inch height. I don't want to paint it and would like it to be money conscientious. What are your thoughts?

Plasti-dip from home depot. $6, if you don't like it, it peels right off. Way easier than paint.

A black background looks great. Ive used paint on a small tank and on the 60g I taped some black material to it that is used in the garden on weed beds to prevent weeds coming through. Its also perforated so it adds a good effect. Whatever you use, just tape it nice and tight and it will look lovely, as will your fish.

Buy a sheet of foam insulation from Home Depot/Lowes, cut it to fit the tank and spray paint it black. It will also hold the heat in the tank and keep your heater from running so much. Paint and insulation will be around $15.
