Currently running a 46 gallon and using 2x wave makers that's pushing 800gph each...is that too much or should I only use one wave maker?

It's really up to you. I'm running 2 hydor power heads that push like 1100 gph or something like that in my 150 and one in my 90. If your fish don't seem to be struggling, it will be fine.

That's definitely a LOT of flow for that tank, though.

thanks, i was kind of worried that it was too much but i guess if the fish and corals will be thriving then it shouldnt be an issue

Good water flow helps corals, so they are probably loving it!

That's only a turnover rate of over 17x. A little high if you don't have SPS corals but if your fish seem fine then go with it
