Ahli coloring up/down daily?

I've noticed here the last few days when I get home from work and turn my aquarium lights on, my Blue Ahli is a VERY deep nice blue with bars. However, 2-3 hours later, and when I wake up to go to work (when I turn the lights off for their 'night', he's a much lighter, paler blue with bars.

Is it normal for them to color up and down that fast/frequently?

Thanks, I didn't realize that. I always hear about coloring up as they grow, but not on a daily basis...

Now that I've been paying closer attention, my Moorii does the same thing, and my Lemon Jake is the opposite, paler when I first turn the lights on, and colors up as they day goes on...

Such interesting critters...
