OK, I've got an Aqueon water changer, and I'm thinking of moving to a Python... Mainly depending on the answer to this question...

Are all of the Python fittings a standard size?

I ask this because I was making a new "wand/bell/whatever" for mine, because the large gravel "bell" or whatever it comes with won't fit behind my background to suck out the crap in there... went to make a new one with 1" CPVC, and found out the thread between the bell end and the hose fitting on that end appears to be proprietary, it's not 3/4" NPT, nor is it 3/4" MH... I can't find anything that fits it to use as an adapter...

Thought about replacing the whole hose, but then I'll either have to make a second larger gravel vacuum end comparable to what it has now, or just stick with the 1" I've got made upl.

Would rather save headache and buy something already made, but easy to find parts for to modify/add to if needed...

Additional question:
What size tubing comes standard on the Python? The Aqueon appears to be 5/8" OD, 1/2" ID...
