Aligator gar

I have the same size tank and have wondered about an alligator gar. You'll have better luck tho since I've got Male dovii in mine.

No, that tank is no where near big enough for a gator. Get a Florida gar instead. Even then, that tank is borderline too small. A gator gar has the genetic potential to get bigger than your tank.

The question was answered.
Some people can get ridiculous about tank size.
In this case no one is being unreasonable, gater far reach over 3 Feet in home aquaria.
A gator gar could live in that tank for a couple months, until 12 to 15 inches max.

No way is that tank suited for a gator.
As said, you can temporarily keep a Spotted or Florida in there....
( heck, you can, of course, do what you want ) all the above is meant as good intended advice by guys who know what they are talking about.
